The following items are included in the shipping kit:

  • A cooler inside a shipping box
  • Ice packs
  • Packing peanuts and bubble wrap and ziplock bag(s)
  • Chain of Custody record (if requested)
  • Instructions
  • Return UPS shipping label (prepaid)

The cost of this service includes the shipping charges to the client, the shipping charges to ALTECA and an $20.00 service charge. Please contact our staff for International Rules.

Most shipping kits are shipped to the client via UPS/Ground Service (2-5 days in transit) and returned to ALTECA via UPS/Next Day Air. This is the most economical for our clients. If you want Next Day service (24hrs) to the client, please check the RUSH SHIPPING box on the submit form or on the written request form.

To request a Shipping Kit, please check the appropriate box under “Additional Options” on our SAMPLE SUBMIT FORM. Make sure you record the address where the shipping kit will be sent in the appropriate area that appears after selecting this option.

We cannot send shipping kits outside the United States.

If your sample contains ice cream or similar products (popsicles, etc.) they MUST be shipped on DRY ICE. We cannot send shipping kits with dry ice. We will still send a shipping kit to your customer, if necessary, but they must get dry ice locally to keep the sample frozen in transit.

If the shipping kit is shipped to you or your client and is not returned to the laboratory for analysis within two months, you will be billed for the shipping charges to you/your client, and a $40.00 fee to cover the service charges and cooler replacement.
